# Renewals and gas planning

Renew one or many names and compare transaction cost.

## Overview

Renewal extends a .eth registration without changing its owner or resolver. Bulk renewal combines eligible names into one transaction and can reduce repeated transaction overhead.

## Before you run this workflow

### Networks

- Ethereum mainnet

### Prerequisites

- Connected controlling wallet
- Correct owner, manager, registrant, or resolver authority

### Wallet permissions

- Only the transaction or typed-data signature shown for the selected operation

### Expected result

- A confirmed onchain update with per-name status for bulk operations

### Errors and recovery

- Inspect authority and wrapped-name state
- Retry only failed items after refreshing chain state

## How to use it

1. **Select eligible names.** Confirm the labels and current expiry dates; managers may not always be the account that should pay or control renewal strategy.
2. **Choose a duration.** The total includes registration rent for each name plus current gas and the displayed platform fee.
3. **Compare the batch.** Use Gas Calculator to compare one batched call with separate transactions at the current gas estimate.
4. **Sign and verify.** After confirmation, refresh the portfolio and check every new expiry date.
